Olympiacos is heading to Kaunas with three key players sidelined

By Eurohoops team / info@eurohoops.net

Giannoulis Larentzakis, Nigel Williams-Goss, and Naz Mitrou-Long missed today’s practice due to injuries and won’t be available for the game against Zalgiris on Friday (01/03) in Kaunas.

They previously skipped Tuesday’s practice, putting Coach Georgios Bartzokas in a tough spot since all three play in the guard positions.

Giannoulis Larentzakis was injured before the Greek National Team’s game against the Czech Republic last Saturday, but he played, and it’s possible that worsened his condition.

Williams-Goss had suffered an injury in the Greek Cup semifinal against Promitheas Patras, playing for less than a minute at that time and has not trained since.

As for Naz Mitrou-Long, his injury occurred in a National Team practice before the game against the Netherlands, and for this reason, he did not play despite being part of Vasilis Spanoulis’s squad.

Nikola Milutinov will not play either since he has been out for a long time. Bartzokas will therefore have only two of his main guards available, Tomas Walkup and Isaiah Canaan, while Michalis Lountzis will come off the bench.
