Ahead of the last game of the EuroLeague season with Panathinaikos, ALBA Berlin announced that Gabriele Procida has already ended the season due to a “left patellar tendon irritation”, undergoing surgery and potentially missing three-four months of action.

In the 2023-24 EuroLeague Regular Season with the last-seeded team in the standings, Gabriele Procida has been averaging 8.3 points and 1.6 rebounds per game, making a real step forward in his performances with the German side. He’s running for the EuroLeague Rising Star Award.

If the 21-year-old will stay out for the whole recovery time, he will miss the 2024 FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament with the Italian national team in Puerto Rico, set from 2-7 July. If Italy makes it to Paris, they would face Team USA, South Sudan, and Serbia.
