Fenerbahce sanctioned, Monaco’s Blossomgame warned after Game 4 incidents

EuroLeague announced disciplinary sanctions after incidents that occurred during the Fenerbahce – Monaco clash.

Monaco edged Fenerbahce in Istanbul to take the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Playoff series to Game 5, and after the final buzzer, incidents occurred on the court.

Home fans started throwing objects and entered the court, but luckily, the heated situation cooled down quickly. Sarunas Jasikevicius apologized, but the EuroLeague still sanctioned Fenerbahce.

According to the official report, Fenerbahce was fined €30,000, while Monaco’s player, Jaron Blossomgame, received a warning.

Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul has been sanctioned with fines amounting to €30,000 for throwing objects onto the playing court and invading the court following the end of the game on the occasion of its home game against AS Monaco under Article 29.2.h and i) of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code, respectively.

Jaron Blossomgame, an AS Monaco player, has been sanctioned with a warning for acts that show a lack of respect towards the public on the occasion of his team’s away game against Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul, under 27.2.b of the Euroleague Basketball Disciplinary Code, per EuroLeague.

The decisive Game 5 of the Monaco – Fenerbahce series will be played on May 8th at Gaston Medecin Hall.
