As the new head coach, Vassilis Spanoulis is preparing AS Monaco for Round 12 of the 2024-25 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season.

Following team practice on Thursday and formally joining forces with the players of the La Roca Team, his side will travel to his home country, Greece, to face Panathinaikos Aktor in OAKA Altion on Friday evening.

“We must be humble while being hungry,” he said, “I want to see a fire in the players as if they are starving. We must always go higher and give ourselves new challenges to accomplish.”

“I believe a lot in this team, it is a very good group with quality players. I also believe in our leaders. They are just as motivated as I am. Together, we will do something beautiful here in Monaco,” added the 42-year-old tactician.

After successful stints as the head coach of the senior national team of Greece and Peristeri, resurfacing in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, following a legendary career as a player, meets Monaco at 7-4 in the Regular Season, tied in fifth place with three other teams.

In France’s Betclic Elite Regular Season, a 5-3 W-L tally trails leader Cholet by two games. Following the meeting with the defending EuroLeague champions in Greece, the domestic schedule resumes with a clash versus JL Bourg in Ekinox on Sunday.
