Will a trade between them take place? And why do they want to leave their teams?

By Georgos Orfanakis/ info@eurohoops.net

More and more rumors arrive from Turkey, considering a trade between Galatasaray and Anadolu Efes. With whom?

It hasn’t been all stars and daisies between Alex Tyus and Dusan Ivkovic. A similar crisis takes place with the relations of Ergin Ataman and Joey Dorsey. So a possible trade could be beneficial for both teams. According to the rules of BSL, this trade could be easily done and both players will be eligible to play for their new team instantly.

Let’s take a small flashback and remember Joey Dorsey’s “attack” on Galatasaray. The player claims that the club didn’t respect the fact that he was in the hospital for three days and pushed him to return to action… earlier than when he was supposed to. It remains to be seen how “true” is this  rumor.

According to confirmed reports by Eurohoops’ sources in Turkey, this trade has been discussed, the scenario might be something more than fictional, but it won’t happen. Dusan Ivkovic wouldn’t have any problem sending Alex Tyus away from Anadolu Efes, if a good replacement was found and appreciates Dorsey’s game. Remember, that Dorsey had his best season in Europe with Olympiacos in 2011/2012 where he finished as a Euroleague champion, under the guidance of Duda.

It wont be easy for Joey Dorsey to continue in Galatasaray, after “attacking” his club through his post on Istangram. When Patric Young, of Olympiacos, was injured Dorsey’s agent suggested the player to the Reds, but coach Giannis Sfairopoulos wasn’t particularly interested, mainly because of Dorsey’s peculiar character. During the previous hours, Dorsey has been offered again to Olympiacos, but so far the team from Piraeus hasn’t shown any signs of interest.

Of course, all these can change at any moment. What is certain, is that both Joey Dorsey and Alex Tyus (under certain conditions) are searching for a team that will allow them to play in Euroleague. And they can do that only until the 23th of February.
