Despite missing Nikola Mirotic, for 20 minutes Milan was more than competitive, keeping Bayern in check.

However, in the second half, the Germans played their game, getting the 87-70 win over the Italians, despite also missing their star big man, Devin Booker.

Thanks to this result, Bayern, Crvena Zvezda, and Panathinaikos remain tied at 15-10 just one step outside the four top spots of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague standings.

Vladimir Lucic and Niels Giffey with 16 points each were the top scorers of the Germans, while Zach LeDay had 17 for the losing side.

“It feels great for sure and even better since we got the win on a very important game for us”, said Lucic in his third EuroLeague game after returning from injury

After this result, Milan dropped to 13-12, tied with Real Madrid at the moment in the 10th position of the standings.

A great second half

Bayern was up by one (18-17) after the first period, but Milan took the 21-18 lead at the start of the second.

However, the hosts took the lead back and created a five-point cushion (32-27) and at the end of the first half thanks to a three by Shavon Shields, Milan trailed by one (37-36).

Carsen Edwards opened the third period with a goal-foul, his first three points in the game, to extend Bayern’s lead to four (40-36) and then to seven (50-43).

And after that, the game changed. Bayern found their offensive rhythm, they extended the lead to 14 (57-43) and Milan couldn’t keep up in the second half.

The score at the end of the third period was 68-55 and Bayern continued to dominate, pushing the lead to 21 (81-60) and the game was over.
