Zach LeDay played only one season in Kaunas, back in 2019-20 before joining Milan for the first time in his EuroLeague career. Tonight, he came back to Lithuania.
Before dropping a huge 26-point game against his former team, he was caught singing the Lithuanian anthem. “It’s one of the homes for me in Europe, I’m blessed to have played here. I still bleed green and white,” he said.
Then, he spoke about his clutch night. “But heart of the lion, to make those free throws, big plays at the end. I just try to be the best leader, the eye of the tiger. It’s a blessing to step on the floor as one of the best four in Europe. I just try to give my all for the team and be a warrior,” LeDay added.
Former Partizan forward praised Niccolò Mannion’s effort. “I wanna give a big shoutout to Niccolò Mannion, a young point guard learning every day in the EuroLeague. He has grown on this trip,” he said.
Talking about the Italian point guard, who had 21 points in Kaunas, he also spoke about Milan’s win. “This arena and the fans are amazing, to come here and stick together like we did showed our character. We have a lot of tough guys on the team, who care and want to win,” Mannion said.
