After focusing on the 2025 NBA Draft, Dame Sarr was released from his contract with FC Barcelona.

The 18-year-old Italian winger officially parted ways with Barca on Thursday. In a quick turnaround on Friday, he reacted to the agreement for his early departure via a post on his Instagram account.

“After three unforgettable years, the time has come for me to say goodbye to FC Barcelona. It is difficult to express in words the depth of my gratitude and affection for this institution, but I want to take a moment to do so with sincerity and respect.

Thank you, Barça, for welcoming me, for believing in me, and for allowing me to grow both as a basketball player and as a person. I will always cherish the experiences, the lessons, and the relationships I’ve built during my time here. This club has been much more than just a team—it has been a place of growth, inspiration, and belonging.

Although the last month has brought some challenges, I want to be clear that they do not diminish the love and admiration I feel for this club. Difficult moments are part of any journey, but they do not define it. What I will carry with me are the countless positive memories and everything I’ve learned along the way.

I am especially grateful to the club for allowing me to take the next step in my career and pursue a dream I’ve held for a long time. I leave with nothing but appreciation and respect, and I will always be proud to have been part of this organization.

I wish the team and the entire Barça family all the best for the rest of the season. You will always have my support, from wherever I may be.”
