Antonio Blakeney penned a two-year contract extension with Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv.
The Israeli club announced the agreement on Tuesday.
“I am very happy and grateful to sign with Hapoel Tel Aviv for two more years,” said the 28-year-old shooting guard, “I would like to thank team owner Ofer Yannay, the management, and the coaching staff for their trust and support. I feel at home here, in Tel Aviv!”
The former Louisiana State standout and veteran of 76 NBA games with the Chicago Bulls joined the team based in Tel Aviv in October. Producing 13.4 points per game over 17 appearances, including six starts in his first season in the BKT EuroCup, combined with winning the championship and earning a spot in the 2025-26 installment of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague.
“I am looking forward to continuing to help the team in great achievements,” mentioned Blakeney, “I am aware that there is still a lot of work ahead coach us, both this season and the seasons to come, and I will invest everything, together with my teammates and the staff.”
“A huge thanks to the fans for your incredible support,” he directly addressed the loyals of the Reds.
At the bottom end of the 2024-25 campaign, the team coached by Dimitris Itoudis focuses on Israel’s Winner League. After a 23-3 record ranked second in the Regular Season, Hapoel Gilboa Galil emerged as an opponent in a best-of-five series for the Quarterfinals of the Playoffs.
