Tornike Shengelia is heavily targeted by Barcelona according to Sportando’s Alessandro Luigi Maggi. The Georgian forward is on an expiring contract with Virtus Bologna and will hit the offseason as a free agent.
Barcelona is reported to be offering Shengelia a lucrative three-year deal.
Shengelia, 34, averaged 15.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.7 assists with in 27:27 over 28 EuroLeague games this season. Virtus finished with a 9-25 record.
If Shengelia lands with Barcelona then he will return to Spain after his memorable run with Baskonia from 2014 to 2020. With the Basque side, Shengelia established himself as one of the most elite forwards in the continent and was named to the All-EuroLeague Team in 2018.
