The deal between BC Partners and EuroLeague, which was expected to be concluded in Istanbul, is no longer on the table, according to Serbian outlet MozzartSport.

Per the report: “There are obstacles and problems at every step, and the latest is the unsuccessful concluded deal regarding the sale of a minority part of the Euroleague.

Namely, the leaders of the elite competition had a plan to sell about 35% of the stake in the Euroleague to a fund from England (BC Partners) for about 350,000,000 euros. The plan was to spend 50,000,000 to improve the organization of the Euroleague, and to distribute the rest to the clubs that are owners of the A license.

However, there was no final agreement between the clubs, and the buyer withdrew the offer”.

The delay in the expected decision raised a lot of eyebrows, and this report changes the whole outlook for the future of the competitions and creates many questions about the landscape of European basketball.
