The EuroLeague Players Association (ELPA) has announced the full list of recipients for the annual Players’ Choice Awards, coinciding with the Most Valuable Player honor.
The award for the best-performing individual with the greatest impact on his team’s overall play went to Panathinaikos guard Kendrick Nunn.
“I’m thankful, and I really respect the players’ opinion, because they’re the ones I compete against every time I step on the floor,” Nunn said, per ELPA.
Earlier in the day, Nigel Hayes-Davis was named Most Clutch Player of the Season following his huge campaign with Fenerbahce, capable of winning the EuroLeague title as Final Four MVP.
Also, Alpha Diallo was named Best Defender of the Year. AS Monaco’s all-arounder wasn’t awarded the Best Defender of the Season award by the EuroLeague – which named instead Bayern Munich’s Nick Weiler-Babb.
ELPA announced six other awards. On Tuesday, Codi Miller-McIntyre got the Fairplay Awards, Tornike Shengelia was named Kyle Hines’ Most Respected Player, and TJ Shorts was named the Best Newcomer.
On Wednesday, instead, Nadir Hifi was named Best Young Player of the Season, Tarik Biberovic got the award for the Most Improved Player, while Mario Hezonja was named Best 6th Man.
