After returning to Olympiacos in 2023, Nigel Williams-Goss confirmed his departure at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.
“Goodbyes are never easy,” he confessed, starting an Instagram post on Tuesday.
His next stop will be fellow Turkish Airlines EuroLeague outfit, Zalgiris, as reported following his exclusion from the Olympiacos squad for the Stoiximan GBL championship series opposite Panathinaikos Aktor.
“Coming back to Greece was like coming home for me and my family. I started my EuroLeague career here and then had the opportunity to wear this special jersey for a second time,” he continued, “In this game you will experience great joy when you win and a deep pain when you lose – But the pain of regret is the worst pain of all. And I can rest my head knowing that I don’t have any.”
“I prepared myself and gave everything I had for this organization, every day both on and off the court,” added the 30-year-old point guard, “Criticism or praise my work, my focus, and my commitment never changed. And this I am most proud of. To anyone I may crossed paths with during my time here I hope you felt the respect and appreciation that I carry with me. God has filled me with so much light and I truly feel the responsibility to shine that on others. With the utmost gratitude to my teammates, staff, and fans… Thank You!”
