Fenerbahçe Beko General Manager Derya Yannier spoke at a press conference announcing the club’s new sponsorship agreement with RAMS, addressing questions about the NBA’s expanding role in European basketball.
When asked about Fenerbahçe’s view on the NBA’s interest in Europe and whether the club had received any offers or proposals, Yannier responded:
“This has been a topic on the agenda for quite some time. We are going through an unusual period for European basketball. It’s not possible to say anything definitive right now about how this will take shape, and frankly, nobody knows,” Yannier said.
He continued, emphasizing what Fenerbahçe’s priorities are:
“What I can say is that we are involved in all the discussions. Our priority is to find the right formula for European basketball, because ensuring that the future of the sport on this continent takes the right direction is one of our biggest responsibilities. At the same time, we are trying both to help steer the process and to find the ideal path for Fenerbahçe’s best interests. It seems that everything will take shape in the coming months. We’ll all see how it unfolds together.”
