Fenerbahce has returned to the winning column in the EuroLeague, snapping a five-game losing streak in the process.
Sarunas Jasikevicius’ side defeated ASVEL in Villeurbanne 81-76 in the final round of the regular season, finishing with a 24-14 record.
The defending champions now face a waiting game. Their final position in the standings depends on the outcomes of the Real Madrid and Hapoel Tel Aviv matches in Round 38.
The scenarios for Fenerbahce:
3rd place: If both Real Madrid and Hapoel Tel Aviv lose.
4th place: If one of those two teams loses.
5th place: If both Madrid and Tel Aviv emerge victorious.
Obviously, the primary goal remains a Top 4 finish, which would guarantee home-court advantage in the upcoming Playoffs.
In the end, Talen Horton-Tucker led Fenerbahçe with 21 points, followed by Tarik Biberović with 17, while Brandon Boston added 10. However, it was Nicolò Melli who posted the highest PIR (21), finishing with seven points, 12 rebounds, three steals, and another strong all-around performance.
As for ASVEL, Shaquille Harrison recorded a career-high 25 points along with a PIR of 33, while Brian Angola added 16 points.
