Crvena zvezda finished the EuroLeague competition in the tenth place for the second consecutive season and then lost in the first Play-In game.
This time, the season for the Serbian team ended in Barcelona, where the Blaugrana won with a score of 80-72, thus securing a decisive match against Monaco.
Two days after the defeat, Moneke took to Instagram to take responsibility for his team’s loss.
“Unfortunately, I and we fell short of my/our EuroLeague goals this season, and I’ll take responsibility for that. I still believe that we are building something special so don’t give up on us yet. The best is yet to come, whenever that is.”
Chima Moneke was statistically Zvezda’s best player during the season with 14 points and 6.5 rebounds per game, but he underperformed in Barcelona with just five points and no field goals.
