Olympiacos achieved victory in the first game of the EuroLeague Quarterfinal series against Monaco, winning on their home court with a score of 91-70.
Despite having to go to the locker room in the third quarter due to a head blow, Sasha Vezenkov was the best with 20 points (8/14 field goals).
Nikola Milutinov was impressive with 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Corey Joseph and Evan Fournier had the same scoring output. Taylor Dorsey also scored in double figures with 11 points.
On the other side, Mike James stood out with 19 points, seven assists and a PIR of 30, Alpha Diallo scored 15 with seven rebounds, and Jaron Blossomgame had 10.
It was clear that Monaco was exhausted after two play-in games, and they could only match the home team in the first quarter, which they won 20-19.
However, Olympiacos managed to turn things in their favour by halftime (45-36) and easily controlled Monaco for the rest of the game, who, besides the play-in games, also had to think about the French Cup final, which they won against Le Mans on Saturday.
Game 2 is scheduled for Thursday, also in Piraeus.
