Barcelona hosted a meeting this Tuesday, attended by clubs planning to become shareholders of the competition.
The expansion and format of the competition were the main reasons for the meeting, as well as the transformation into franchises, and discussions will continue in July, with the goal of starting this system from the 2027/28 season.
“EuroLeague clubs which are non-shareholders plus Hapoel Jerusalem met in Barcelona today and were informed about the new plans and the transformation to franchises, but the process will start in July 2026 with an eye to the 2027-28 season.”
Dubai Basketball, Hapoel Tel Aviv, Valencia Basket, AS Monaco, Partizan Belgrade, Crvena Zvezda Belgrade, and Virtus Bologna, Hapoel Jerusalem are the teams that were present at the meeting.
