Joan Penarroya, the coach of Partizan, has reportedly extended his contract with the club until 2028.
According to Meridian Sport, the Spaniard who took over Partizan during the season and had a contract until the end of the 2026/27 season, reached an agreement with the Serbian team and will remain at the helm until 2028.
Penarroya, who previously worked only in Spain, arrived at an unfavorable time for Partizan. After the departure of Zeljko Obradovic, which did not sit well with many fans, the Spaniard took on the role of head coach in a challenging position.
Nevertheless, he succeeded in stabilizing Partizan, which has played excellent basketball in the EuroLeague in the last two months, and will also have the opportunity to win the ABA League with Partizan. Currently, Dubai is closer to that trophy, having won the first match of the finals.
On the other hand, Penarroya has not had success in the Serbian Cup and the domestic championship, where Partizan was stopped in the semifinals.
