TJ Shorts is on his way to Valencia, awaiting the final “OK” from the Greek giant

The transfer of TJ Shorts to Panathinaikos was one of those that stood out last summer, however, theory never became practice.

Neither was he used accordingly by the departing Ergin Ataman, nor did he manage to make the most out of the limited time given to him on several occasions.

Despite having a contract until 2027, the idea of a change in environment quickly began to cross his mind, and Panathinaikos informed him accordingly along the way. Valencia was chosen as the best possible option for his future; after all, their style suits him, hence the rejection of Barcelona.

Valencia and the 29-year-old American, who also holds a Macedonian passport, point guard have reached an agreement, and the only thing standing in the way is the existing contract, which is expected to be mutually terminated. Unless the new coach demands his stay, a scenario which seems unlikely.

He averaged 8.1 points and 2.9 assists in 16 minutes over 17 games in the EuroLeague, 11.8 points and 4.1 assists in 20 minutes over 31 games in the Stoiximan GBL, and 13 points and 2 assists in 23 minutes against PAOK in the Semifinal phase of the Greek Cup, which Panathinaikos won.
