Martynas Pocius has ended his time at Real Madrid. The Lithuanian announced on Tuesday that he has reached an agreement with the club to terminate his contract by mutual consent, bringing to a close an experience that has lasted nearly a year.
In a farewell message, Pocius expressed his gratitude to Real Madrid for the opportunity to be part of one of the most prestigious sporting organizations in the world.
“After nearly a year at Real Madrid, I’ve reached a mutual agreement to terminate my contract with the club” he explained. He also thanked the president and the entire organization for the trust they placed in him, stating that this period has been “an incredible learning experience” that will stay with him for the rest of his professional career.
Pocius also reflected on his work during the season, emphasizing that his main objective was to perform his duties with integrity and contribute to building a solid and sustainable project that everyone could be proud of.
In that regard, he emphasized the importance of having built strong relationships within the club, leading with honesty, and maintaining a daily commitment to doing things the right way. He also expressed his pride in the work done by everyone at Real Madrid, from the coaching staff and players to the technical and administrative personnel.
“It has been a true pleasure to be part of this team,” he stated.
The Lithuanian also wanted to dedicate some special words to Sergio Rodríguez, who also resigned, and whom he personally thanked for the opportunity to join the Real Madrid project and for the constant support he provided during his professional development.
Pocius described the former player and Real Madrid executive as “a great leader” and said he should be very proud of the work done during the last season. He also highlighted his loyalty to his principles and his vision for the project, concluding with a heartfelt message of friendship: “I’ll always have your back, my friend.”
The now former Real Madrid player concluded his farewell with a message full of Madridismo and hope of reuniting with the club in the future: “Hala Madrid. I believe our paths will cross again.”
