Olympiacos BC has officially announced the extension of head coach Georgios Bartzokas’ contract for another three years, keeping the most successful coach in the club’s history at the helm until the summer of 2029.
In an era where continuity and commitment to a long-term vision have become increasingly rare, Olympiacos has chosen to reinforce the foundations of a partnership built on trust, hard work, and sustained success.
Olympiacos presidents Panagiotis and Giorgos Angelopoulos finalized the agreement with Bartzokas and emphasized that the renewal represents far more than a standard contractual extension.
“This is not simply another agreement,” the club owners stated. “It is the continuation of a journey that long ago stopped being measured by dates and contracts and has already secured its place in the glorious history of Olympiacos.
“Our trust in Georgios Bartzokas is absolute and has been earned through his work, resilience, consistency, and results. Over the years, he has demonstrated the character, knowledge, and commitment required to lead Olympiacos at the highest level. He has shaped the team’s identity and mentality with the conviction of someone who never compromises his vision. Together, we have experienced moments that transcend ordinary storytelling. Triumphs that became part of our collective memory, culminating in this season’s EuroLeague and Greek League titles. These achievements were not the product of luck or circumstance but the natural result of unwavering dedication to a common goal. We are living one of the brightest chapters in Olympiacos history—not to admire it from a distance, but to continue writing it. What we have already achieved is not enough. We respect and honor it, but we also use it as the foundation for what comes next. Olympiacos was not born to follow others. It was born to create its own path to the top. With Georgios Bartzokas on the bench, it will continue to do so in a manner worthy of its history, values, and traditions”.
Shortly after signing his new contract, Bartzokas shared his thoughts with the club’s official website. “The renewal of our partnership for the next three years fills me with joy and emotion,” he said. “For me, Olympiacos is much more than a professional destination. It is my team, my home, and the longest chapter of my career. Together, we have experienced unforgettable moments, and it is our duty to fight for many more. First and foremost, I would like to thank club presidents Giorgos and Panagiotis Angelopoulos for the strong relationship of trust we have built over the years. It is a relationship forged through mutual respect, honesty, and a shared vision for the future of Olympiacos. My connection with our supporters remains an inexhaustible source of strength. Their passion is the fuel that drives me to continue with the same enthusiasm and sense of responsibility toward the club. The emotions Olympiacos gives us can never truly be repaid. The only way to honor them is through relentless effort to make the club bigger, stronger, and worthy of its great history”.
With Bartzokas committed through 2029, Olympiacos has secured continuity at the top and reaffirmed its intention to remain among Europe’s elite. After capturing both the EuroLeague and Greek League crowns in 2026, the club enters a new chapter determined not merely to defend its success, but to build an even greater legacy.
