Paris Basketball has officially announced the departure of Julius Thomas, ending his two-and-a-half-year tenure with the club.

Thomas joined Paris as an assistant coach before being promoted to associate head coach and eventually taking over as interim head coach following Francesco Tabellini’s departure in late March.

The 28-year-old guided Paris to a 3-2 EuroLeague record, with wins over Virtus Bologna, EA7 Emporio Armani Milan and Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv, before leading the team to the French League Finals, where it lost to AS Monaco in a five-game series.

During his stint, Thomas became the youngest head coach in EuroLeague history, while his first victory also made him the youngest coach ever to record a EuroLeague win.

“We would like to thank him for his journey with the club and wish him all the best for the future,” Paris Basketball said in its farewell statement.
