AS Monaco have officially announced the departure of Daniel Theis, bringing an end to the German center’s spell with the club.
Theis spent the last season and a half in the Principality after returning from the NBA, where he became an important part of Monaco’s frontcourt rotation.
During the 2025-26 EuroLeague season, the 34-year-old averaged 9.7 points and 5.0 rebounds in 38 appearances. He also played a key role in Monaco’s run to the 2025 EuroLeague final, averaging 11.7 points and 5.5 rebounds in 15 games during the second half of the 2024-25 campaign.
The experienced big man is expected to remain in the EuroLeague with LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne.
“Daniel Theis is a major signing for us. He brings a wealth of experience, and in your locker room, that changes everything,” ASVEL’s new head coach Tony Parker recently revealed to L’Équipe.
