In less than four months, Sergio Llull will officially be 39 years old, but it seems he will continue playing basketball.
According to a report by “Marca”, the captain of Real Madrid has agreed to renew his contract for one more season, which will be his 21st with the Madrid team.
Based on the same article, the decision was made before the change in the coaching leadership, while Sergio Scariolo was still on the bench, so it appears that Pedro Martínez will indeed have Llull in the roster.
The experienced Spanish guard had 40 appearances in the EuroLeague last season, averaging 3.1 points and 1.5 assists in 11.1 minutes per game, while in the ACB, he had 6.9 points and 2.4 assists in 17.1 minutes per game over 36 appearances.
Overall, this will be Llull’s 22nd season in the ACB, as he made his debut in the 2005-06 season with Manresa.
