Real Madrid have officially announced the signing of Mikael Jantunen on a two-year contract, confirming Eurohoops’ earlier report that the Finnish international was the club’s top target to strengthen the power forward position.
The move has now been completed, with the 26-year-old signing through the end of the 2027–28 season.
Jantunen arrives from Fenerbahce after spending one season under Sarunas Jasikevicius, where he averaged 6.4 points and 4.0 rebounds across 36 EuroLeague appearances while helping the Turkish club capture the domestic league, cup and super cup titles.
Before joining Fenerbahce, the Finnish forward won the 2023–24 EuroCup with Paris Basketball and has also claimed domestic championships in Belgium, France and Turkey.
Jantunen becomes another key addition for Pedro Martinez’s new-look Real Madrid, following the arrivals of Jaime Pradilla and Timothé Luwawu-Cabarrot as the Spanish giants continue reshaping their roster for the 2026–27 season.
