Confirming rumors about his arrival in the Serbian capital, Partizan Mozzart Bet announced a two-year deal with Alessandro Pajola on Thursday.
The Italian national team point guard completes a seamless transition from one iconic black-and-white jersey to another, leaving Virtus Bologna after a legendary ten-season tenure.
The 26-year-old playmaker, who celebrates his 27th birthday this coming November, arrives in Belgrade as a highly decorated veteran of continental basketball. During his decade in Bologna, he steered Vu Nere’s backcourt through a modern golden era, capturing a 7DAYS EuroCup crown, a Basketball Champions League trophy, two LBA UnipolSai domestic championships, and three domestic Supercoppa titles.

His individual impact is best underscored by his reputation as an elite perimeter stopper, having earned the prestigious Serie A Best Defender award for both the 2021–22 and 2024–25 campaigns.
Across his continental career, Pajola has logged 117 EuroLeague appearances, proving his caliber against the highest level of European competition. In his final campaign with Virtus, he averaged 4.0 points, 4.2 assists, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.1 steals per contest, starting 13 of his 24 outings.
Beyond his extensive club success, the guard brings considerable international pedigree, having initially progressed through Italy’s youth ranks to win a silver medal at the FIBA U18 World Cup 2017 and a bronze at the FIBA U18 European Championship 2016. As a staple of the senior Azzurri squad, he has consistently featured on the global stage, representing his country at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, the FIBA World Cup 2023, and two EuroBasket tournaments.

Pajola marks another significant move in an active offseason for the Serbian powerhouse, which recently added Lamar Stevens and Kevarrius Hayes. Alongside these new faces, continuity remains a priority, as team captain Vanja Marinkovic and Tonye Jekiri inked contract extensions.
