Valencia Basket continues to reshape its roster ahead of next season. The renewed squad of Xavi Albert, following the departure of interior players, has officially announced the signing of Mouhamadou Gueye, who has signed for one season.
The former Stony Brook and Pittsburgh player will bring physicality, energy on the boards, and strong defense.
Known for his energetic spells with the Texas Legends (Dallas Mavericks’ affiliate) and Windy City Bulls (Chicago’s affiliate), he will provide hard work in the shadows for a team that wants to return to the top despite losing its stars.
Valencia Basket made the announcement official on the afternoon of Thursday, July 23:
“Valencia Basket has reached an agreement with the American power forward with Senegalese passport Mo Gueye (2.06 m, Staten Island, New York (USA), 08/07/1998, 28 years old) to join our men’s first team for the coming seasons, until June 30, 2027. The player arrives from the United States, where he has been playing both in the NBA and the Development League in recent seasons.
Last season, the power forward was with the Chicago Bulls, playing for their affiliate team, where he averaged 15 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 47 games. With the franchise he appeared in two NBA games, in which he averaged 8 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists and one steal. Now he lands in Spain with Valencia Basket to experience his first European adventure, competing at the highest level in the Liga Endesa and the EuroLeague.”
