The international South Sudanese center Wenyen Gabriel will engage in social issue activities related to refugees.

After all, Gabriel himself was just a two-week-old baby when his family took him from South Sudan due to the civil war, and they all moved to Egypt.

The announcement states: “We are proud to announce Wenyen Gabriel as the latest UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador!

Born into a family forced to flee their country due to conflict, Wenyen knows well what becomes possible when refugees are given the chance to rebuild their lives.

Together, we will continue to stand by people forced to leave their homes and help ensure that being a refugee is never the end of someone’s story.

Welcome to the family, Wenyen.”
