Barcelona officially announced the appointment of Xevi Pujol as the basketball section’s new sporting director.
The 36-year-old agreed to a three-year contract and will be responsible for shaping the sporting philosophy of the team.
Pujol arrives from Baskonia, where he served as technical secretary during the 2025-26 season and celebrated the Copa del Rey title.
Before moving to Vitoria, he spent five seasons as Manresa’s sporting director. During his tenure, the club reached the Basketball Champions League Final, won the Catalan League, made three Copa del Rey appearances, and qualified twice for the ACB Playoffs.
Pujol was also named the Spanish League’s Best Sporting Director for the 2024-25 season by Gigantes del Basket. Before moving into the front office, he worked as an assistant coach at Manresa under Pedro Martinez, Ibon Navarro, Aleix Duran, Diego Ocampo, and Joan Penarroya.
