Alex Mumbru is the newest member of the EuroLeague Head Coaches Board.
Serving as the head coach of Virtus Bologna and the German national team, Coach Mumbru brings extensive experience from both club and international basketball, further strengthening the EHCB community.
The former basketball player, who won the EuroCup in 2007 and also has gold medals with Spain from the FIBA World Cup (2006) and EuroBasket (2009), has transitioned into coaching and has been very successful.
Mumbru worked in Bilbao for four years before moving to Valencia, where he worked for two years until 2024. He then took over the German national team, and in 2025 he achieved the greatest coaching success of his career by winning gold at EuroBasket, with Germany defeating Turkey in the final.
This summer, he also became the coach of Virtus Bologna.
Aleksander Sekulic joins EHCB
Aleksander Sekulic is also the newest member of EuroLeague Head Coaches Board.
As the head coach of FC Barcelona, Coach Sekulic brings a wealth of experience and basketball expertise to the growing EHCB community.
Aleksander Sekulic has over 20 years of coaching experience, and most recently worked in Dubai, where he won the ABA League.
Following that, he took over Barcelona, which he will lead starting this season. He was the head coach of Slovenia for six years and has experience working in Slovenia, the Czech Republic, as well as Russia, where he led Lokomotiv Kuban and Zenit.
