Olympiacos has reinforced its domestic core ahead of the upcoming 2026–27 season by officially signing Nikos Plotas.
On Thursday, the Reds confirmed the addition of the 22-year-old guard, who previously excelled with Promitheas.
Plotas committed his future to the Piraeus-based powerhouse by inking a five-year contract.

Club management successfully negotiated all terms with both the playmaker’s representatives and the leadership of his former team. This strategic summer acquisition provides head coach Giorgos Bartzokas with a highly touted Greek talent for their upcoming continental and domestic campaigns.
Plotas arrives carrying impressive individual credentials, having secured the prestigious Best Young Player award in Greece’s Stoiximan GBL last season. During that breakout year, he made 23 appearances for the Patras outfit, averaging 5.5 points, 1.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 0.9 steals across 18 minutes of action per contest. Beyond domestic league experience, the rising star has accumulated continental exposure, featuring in six 7DAYS EuroCup games and 11 Basketball Champions League fixtures.
Furthermore, he is a decorated youth international. He represented Greece at the FIBA U18 European Championship 2022 and captured consecutive bronze medals with the Under-20 national team at the 2023 and 2024 EuroBasket tournaments.
Prior to finalizing his transition to the reigning EuroLeague champions, the Promitheas youth academy product posted an emotional farewell message on Instagram to thank his longtime club and its supporters.
Earlier this offseason, Olympiacos secured commitments from Codi Miller-McIntyre, Jean Montero, and Mbaye Ndiaye to strengthen their roster alongside a strong returning core.
