French guard Hugo Besson is the new member of LDLC ASVEL, with a contract for next season.
Per the press release: LDLC ASVEL is pleased to announce the signing of Hugo Besson to its roster.
An offensive, creative player capable of playing both backcourt positions, Hugo Besson will bring his scoring talent, versatility, and international experience to the Villeurbanne team.
Originally from Angers and trained at Élan Chalon, Hugo Besson quickly made a name for himself on the French basketball scene. Playing for Saint-Quentin, he had an exceptional 2020-2021 season in Pro B, finishing as the league’s top scorer and winning the Best Young Player award. His performances earned him a move to the New Zealand Breakers, where he continued his development and gained international recognition.
Drafted 58th overall by the Indiana Pacers in the NBA, the Frenchman continued to hone his skills with Metropolitans 92, confirming his scoring prowess and notably participating in the French championship final in 2023. His journey then continued in Serbia, Italy, and then Turkey, where he played successively with FMP Belgrade, Varese, Manisa, and finally Tofaş.
He will wear number 25.
