Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv earned a 95–81 friendly victory over Maccabi Tapuzina Rishon LeZion at Hadar Yosef in Tel Aviv on Tuesday, bouncing back from a narrow loss to Bnei Penlink Herzliya in their preseason opener.
The second practice matchup marked the debuts of Yam Madar and Daniel Theis. The 25-year-old point guard contributed seven points and four assists, while the 34-year-old center chipped in four points.
Beyond the new arrivals for the Yellows, Roman Sorkin delivered the standout performance of the day, dominating the floor with an efficient 19 points on a perfect 8-for-8 shooting from the field alongside five rebounds.
The team coached by Oded Kattash showcased balanced offensive depth with several players reaching double figures. Jaylen Hoard and Oshae Brissett each contributed 12 points to the victory, while Keaton Wallace and Shane Hunter added ten points apiece. Bonzie Colson II chipped in eight points, and Gabriel Iffe Lundberg orchestrated the backcourt smoothly by dishing out six assists.
This victory provides positive momentum for the squad as they navigate their preseason schedule. Following this game, the team travels to Nicosia for the Neofytos Chandriotis Tournament 2026, where they will face Aris on Friday, followed by a matchup against either fellow EuroLeague outfit Olympiacos or Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet on Sunday.
These preparatory tests will serve as the final adjustments before Maccabi officially launches the 2026–27 campaign. The competitive season begins next Thursday, opposite rivals Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv at Menora Mivtachim Arena for the Israeli Supercup.
