A historic bond born out of wartime solidarity has evolved into an official integration, as Baloncesto Fuenlabrada merges its identity with European powerhouse KK Partizan Belgrade. Moving forward, the Spanish club will compete under the new designation of Partizan de Fuenlabrada.
Announced on Thursday, this monumental development cements an enduring brotherhood dating back 35 years, marking a fresh chapter in one of the most profound cross-border narratives.
The connection traces back to the 1991-92 campaign when the Balkan club, displaced by the Yugoslav Wars and barred from hosting games in Belgrade, found sanctuary in the Community of Madrid. Fuenlabrada embraced the exiled squad, providing a local home court at the Pabellon Fernando Martin. Fueled by that local support, the visitors went on an unforgettable championship run in the FIBA European League, now called EuroLeague.

Decades later, the ties between the two teams have grown considerably closer. Rather than functioning as a mere historical memory, this mutual alliance is taking shape as a comprehensive joint venture. The strategic unification will deeply impact multiple facets of both organizations, including business structures, marketing frameworks, corporate elements, and athletic sectors. A core component of the arrangement highlights player development pipelines alongside combined institutional projects intended to maximize global brand visibility.
The unveiling of the fresh title coincided with preparations for the AdmiralBet Open Air Tournament 2026. The newly branded squad is slated to hit the court in Belgrade for exhibition matchups against EuroLeague competitors, Partizan Mozzart Bet on Friday and Besiktas on Saturday.
