Olympiacos completed a perfect 2-0 run at the Neofytos Chandriotis Tournament in Cyprus, overcoming 17 turnovers and a difficult start to beat Maccabi Tel Aviv 77-72 in a hard-fought preseason clash between two EuroLeague sides.

The Greek powerhouse found different heroes in each quarter, with Tyler Dorsey taking control in the second, Tyson Ward making his impact felt in the third and newcomer Mbaye Ndiaye stepping up when it mattered most in the fourth.

The victory also secured the tournament trophy for Olympiacos, who now turn their attention to the EuroLeague Super Cup. Giorgos Bartzokas’ team will face Fenerbahce in the semifinals on September 18.

Dorsey finished with 13 points, while Mbaye Ndiaye also scored 13 and added three steals. Ward contributed 12 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals.

Earlier today, Aris came out on top in the third game of the Cyprus tournament, defeating Crvena Zvezda 98-74.

The Greek team found the consistency and scoring balance needed to secure the victory, while the Serbian side endured a difficult afternoon both on the scoreboard and on the injury front.

Jeremiah Robinson-Earl was the standout performer for Aris, leading all scorers with 24 points and playing a key role in his team’s offensive success. His contribution was complemented by Matt Morgan and EJ Liddell, who added 18 and 15 points respectively to give Aris three reliable scoring options throughout the game.

For Crvena Zvezda, it was a night to forget. The Serbian side struggled to find offensive answers, with Tyson Carter (10p.), Chris Jones (12 p.) and Johnathan Motley (13 p.) as the only players with ten or more points. The lack of scoring production ultimately proved costly as Aris gradually took control of the contest. The defeat was made even more painful by an early injury to Semi Ojeleye. The forward was forced out after just 1:15 on the court, adding another concern to an already difficult outing for the Serbian team.

Wins for Hapoel Tel Aviv, Fenerbahce and Partizan, ASVEL loses

Maxima Roma secured an 84-78 victory over ASVEL in a competitive preseason encounter, continuing their preparations ahead of the new campaign.

Meanwhile, Fenerbahçe Tarfin closed their preseason schedule in convincing fashion, cruising past EuroCup side Balkan Botevgrad 102-66 at the Metro Enerji Sports Hall.

Fenerbahçe dominated the game from the outset and produced an impressive offensive display. Will Clyburn and Wade Baldwin IV led the scoring with 16 points apiece, while Marcus Bingham Jr. added 13. Shavon Shields contributed 11 points, followed by Johnny Juzang with nine and Trent Forrest with eight.

Partizan also had an easy afternoon, defeating 89-71 Besiktas in an open air game.

The final EuroLeague matchup of the day featured Bayern Munich and Hapoel Tel Aviv, with the Israeli side coming away with a 77–85 victory.
