Anadolu Efes will take part in a preparation tournament for the new season – the VTB Cup, which will be held in Russia’s capital, Moscow.
According to Russian journalist Artem Komarov’s report, Georgios Papagiannis could get his jersey back after 11 months with this tournament. According to the news, the Greek big man is included in Efes’ 16-man squad for the tournament.
The 2.21m Papagiannis, who left AS Monaco in the summer of 2025 and signed with Anadolu Efes, suffered an injury in the game against Panathinaikos played in October.
During the game, the 29-year-old center tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, which is why he had surgery and his season ended. Because of this serious injury, Papagiannis has been away from the court for about 11 months.
