The Buss brothers have the exclusive negotiating rights until the first days of November to buy LDLC ASVEL from Tony Parker, per Eurohoops sources.
Joey and Jesse Buss have the exclusive right to purchase the team, which is one of the 13 EuroLeague shareholders, who are about to transform into a franchise.
Of course, the possible collaboration between the EuroLeague and the NBA is a factor in the talks, and this is not the only impending sale of a EuroLeague club.
Everyone agrees, no matter what happens in the talks between the EuroLeague and the NBA, that European basketball is undervalued, and this seems to be the right time for a lot of investors to buy relatively cheaply.
After all, the value of European clubs is at this point just a fraction of the numbers that are the reality for NBA franchise sales.
ASVEL entered the EuroLeague this season with big ambitions, with a planned budget of 59M euros, but the financial authorities of the country didn’t accept the guarantees provided for those numbers, pushing the budget back to 24M euros, with Parker explaining the situation.
As a result, the club had to part ways with its star Sylvain Francisco to Panathinaikos, as well as Daniel Theis, who joined Maccabi Tel Aviv, while Armani Brooks and Nick Weiler-Babb went on loans to Valencia and Crvena Zvezda, respectively.
