Fenerbahce secured a victory in the EuroLeague opener, defeating Virtus Bologna 78-68 in Istanbul.
Fenerbahce struggled and was trailing in the fourth quarter but managed to win thanks to their experience.
After the match, coach Sarunas Jasikevicius shared his initial impressions.
“At this point in the season, the most important thing for us is to integrate new players into the system. Of course, it’s necessary to progress by winning during this process. We were not at our best today. Also, Fenerbahçe was not coached very well today.
Despite this, we won, but we need to learn lessons from this match, starting with myself. I think I made a tactical mistake in defense. When we changed our defense in the second half, we were able to stop them. So, this is probably largely my fault. Switching on defense was the right thing for us to do.”
