Mike James suffered a severe injury during the third round of the EuroLeague match, which Anadolu Efes lost in Belgrade to Crvena zvezda (77-72).

James got injured towards the end of the third quarter, lying in pain on the court, and everyone feared that James had torn his Achilles tendon.

On Friday, Anadolu Efes also issued a statement confirming the worst fears, announcing that Mike had undergone surgery and would be off the court for 7 to 9 months.

“Mike James, who was injured in the Crvena Zvezda match we played yesterday, underwent Achilles tendon repair surgery performed by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Kerem Ülkü.

Our doctor Uğur Diliçıkık stated that it is anticipated that our player will be away from the courts for 7-9 months, depending on the course of the post-operative treatment process.”
