Panathinaikos center Mathias Lessort picks up EuroLeague Round 4 MVP award

A stellar performance in Round 4 of the 2026–27 EuroLeague Regular Season brings in Most Valuable Player honors for Mathias Lessort

Panathinaikos Aktor center Mathias Lessort has been officially named EuroLeague Round 4 Most Valuable Player for the 2026–27 Regular Season.

Euroleague Basketball confirmed the honor on Saturday.

Per the press release: “Mathias Lessort didn’t need long to make his mark in Round 4. The Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens center delivered a stellar performance in just 23 minutes to lead his team to a 92-75 home win over Fenerbahce Tarfin Istanbul and claim MVP of the Round honors with a PIR of 30.

Lessort scored 19 points on 6-of-9 two-point shooting and 7-of-10 from the free-throw line, adding 8 rebounds, an assist, a steal, a block and 6 fouls drawn. It is the fourth MVP of the Round award of his career, all with Panathinaikos, and his first since his fibula injury. His previous three came during the 2023-24 season.

Moses Wright of Armani Olimpia Milan posted the round’s highest PIR of 32, though it came in a 97-79 road loss to Maccabi Rapyd Tel Aviv. Wright had 23 points on 9-of-10 two-pointers and 5-of-6 free throws, plus 8 rebounds, an assist and 4 fouls drawn.

Chris Duarte followed with a PIR of 31 in Kosner Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz’s 84-92 home loss to Besiktas Istanbul. Duarte did most of his damage at the line, going a perfect 15-of-15 on free throws to finish with 23 points. He shot 1-of-3 on two-pointers and 2-of-4 from three-point range, and added 5 rebounds, an assist, 2 steals, a block and 7 fouls drawn.

Antonio Blakeney of Hapoel IBI Tel Aviv posted a PIR of 29 in a 93-82 road loss to Valencia Basket. He poured in 30 points on the back of 8-of-11 three-point shooting, adding 3-of-5 from inside the arc, 2 rebounds, 2 assists and a foul drawn.

Wendell Moore rounded out the top performers with a PIR of 28, contributing 20 points, 9 rebounds, 3 steals, a block and 5 fouls drawn as Virtus Bologna won 87-94 at FC Bayern Munich.

Individual highs: Nadir Hifi, Paris, 30 points

Hifi of Paris Basketball and Blakeney shared the round’s scoring lead with 30 points apiece. Hifi also tops the EuroLeague scoring charts at 20.3 points per game.

Kenneth Faried of Baskonia was the only player to reach double digits in rebounds, pulling down 10 against Besiktas. Elijah Bryant of Hapoel leads the league at 8.5 rebounds per game.

Devon Hall of Milan and Tomas Satoransky of Hapoel shared the assists lead with 9 each. Codi Miller-McIntyre of Olympiacos Piraeus leads the season standings at 6.7 assists per game.

Hifi also collected a round-high 4 steals in Paris’s 96-98 home loss to LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne. Luca Vildoza of Partizan leads the EuroLeague at 3.3 steals per game.

Austin Wiley of Bayern, Virtus teammates Aliou Diarra and Momo Diouf, and Dan Oturu of Hapoel each blocked 3 shots in Round 4. Jonas Valanciunas of Zalgiris Kaunas, Diarra and Oturu share the season lead at 2.3 blocks per game.

Faried’s 10 points and 10 rebounds against Besiktas made him the only player to record a double-double in Round 4.”
