The Euroleague Commercial Assets Shareholder Clubs recently met for a two-day session at Lake Como to map out a shared vision.
Organizers chose the location intentionally, explained chief executive officer Chus Bueno, noting that major decisions should happen in a setting known for historic events.
A central theme of the summit was solidarity.

“The EuroLeague has a great identity,” noted LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne’s Tony Parker.
Executives emphasized that the EuroLeague relies on teams working together and deciding their common interests as a single unit. “It’s a real milestone for the future,” said Olympiacos’ Giorgos Angelopoulos.
With growth prioritized as the main objective, club owners pledged to exchange information and learn from each other’s examples, acknowledging that the entire league rises together because they are all in the same boat, as stressed by Panathinaikos Aktor’s Dimitris Giannakopoulos.
The collective ambition remains highly competitive on a global scale. As underlined by FC Bayern Munich’s Herbert Hainer, the goal is to expand this presence so that whenever fans around the world think of the sport, they think first of the EuroLeague.
At the ECA meeting on October 6, they reached a key strategic agreement to transform existing teams into franchises while simultaneously expanding the total number of franchises in the league. By leaving Lake Como aligned and committed, leadership has laid down a foundation to build a stronger future.
