Olympiacos head coach Giorgos Bartzokas confirmed the club is surveying the transfer market following rumors linking the Greek powerhouse to John Konchar.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, ahead of a crucial clash to resume action in the 2026–27 EuroLeague Regular Season, the 61-year-old Greek play-caller addressed the need for reinforcements while focusing on current roster limitations.

“It is true that we are active in the market, as current injuries and gaps in the roster necessitate this,” Bartzokas stated. “Even without these factors, the presidents and I are always monitoring the market. We maintain an ongoing dialogue on how the team can cover any voids that may arise throughout the season. At this moment, there is nothing concrete, but it is a fact that we are in the market and looking at options.”

Beyond team adjustments, he commented on the integrity of the domestic game. His remarks came shortly after six suspects linked to a widening bribery and match-fixing investigation arrived at the Evelpidon Athens Court. Bartzokas made his stance clear, advocating for total transparency in the judicial process. “I am a proponent of legality, and no shadows should remain,” mentioned the Athens native.

On the floor, his squad sits at the top of the EuroLeague standings. The defending champions are locked in a three-way tie for first place, sharing a 5–1 record with archrivals Panathinaikos Aktor and Fenerbahce Tarfin. In Round 7, the Reds take on Fener at Sunel Arena to break their deadlock.
