Real Madrid secured a convincing victory in the ninth round of the EuroLeague, defeating Fenerbahce 96-77 on their home court.

As a result, Fenerbahce concluded this double round with two losses, leaving Sarunas Jasikevicius certainly dissatisfied. He also highlighted this in a flash interview after the game.

“We don’t have an identity as a team. We have a bunch of very big names, we need to find a way how we play one for another. Obviously, individually we can do a lot of things, but this is not what will get a job done, we need to find a way to play as a team.”

Jasikevicius later addressed journalists at the press conference, where he emphasized that Real Madrid was the much better team.

“Real Madrid was so much consistent. During the 40 minutes, they deserve the win. We’re a team looking for identity. Madrid moved the ball fast. They played more as a team than us. We’re not scoring from the three point line. We have too many clear shots, but we’re missing.”

The Lithuanian underlined that his team relies too much on individual solutions.

“We’re not doing teamwork. We’re trying to fix things. If we keep thinking we’re too good, we’ll continue not being a team.
We had 20 offensive rebounds, guys went out to fight for the game. I have no problems with how we fought. We played too much individually. We thought we were too good and thought we could fix things playing 1v1. Sometimes you have to play simpler basketball.”
