Olimpia Milano announced on their social media that they have ended their collaboration with Giuseppe Poeta following a poor start to the season.
Olimpia Milano currently holds a 1-9 record in the EuroLeague and has not started well in the LegaBasket either, necessitating a different solution.
“Olimpia Milano announces that Peppe Poeta has been relieved of his duties as head coach of the first team. Olimpia and its ownership wish to thank Peppe for the commitment, dedication, and enthusiasm with which he carried out his work, first as an assistant and then as head coach, a role in which he won a championship, an Italian Cup, and a Super Cup. We extend our best wishes to Peppe for his personal and professional future.
The team has been entrusted “ad interim” to Coach Marco Ramondino, who will lead it in the next Sunday’s game.”
Renowned Italian coach Luca Banchi will take his place. Banchi previously led Olimpia from 2013 to 2015, and his last club engagement was with Anadolu Efes. Banchi also works as the head coach of the Italian national team.
