Dusan Alimpijevic’s frustration spilled into his postgame press conference after Besiktas suffered their sixth EuroLeague defeat of the season against Zalgiris.
Asked what he expected from his players after a timeout, the Serbian coach gave a brief response before attempting to move on.
“I expected the same thing that I expected before the game,” Alimpijevic said. “Can we go to the next question, please? You are not satisfied with the answer? What do you want?”
His criticism of Besiktas extended beyond their shooting struggles. They finished at 42% on two-pointers and 26% from three, but Alimpijevic was particularly disappointed with their effort in front of the home crowd.
“Missing shots definitely cannot be an excuse for playing bad defense,” he stressed. “When our fans aren’t giving up, how can we give up?”
