Crvena zvezda secured a victory in the tenth round of the EuroLeague, defeating Olympiacos away with a score of 62-57.
In a match marked by numerous runs, Olympiacos came close in the final moments to a two-point deficit (57-55), but ultimately failed to secure the win after crucial points from Koloko and Jones.
After the match, Georgios Bartzokas, the coach of the home team, stated that his team did not deserve to win.
“There is no excuse. With the way we played, we did not deserve to win. We closed the gap in the second half, and the game was decided on one possession. If you look at the statistics, you will understand the picture of the game. We missed 7 free throws with a low percentage, and we had low shooting percentages. Through defense, we tried to turn the game around, but with those percentages, we couldn’t win.”
He also added that one loss should not be a cause for concern, as teams go through different phases during the season.
“Because it’s too early to draw conclusions, teams go through various phases during the year. You lose a game, and there is tension, doubt, or trust within the team when things go well. Everyone won away. There are so many games now in the EuroLeague, and it’s not just about how you are, but also the opponent’s condition. We certainly were not well. All these need analysis, and we will convey them to the players.”
