Brose Baskets knew during the half time that Barcelona had won in Kaunas. That meant no playoffs for the Germans who played for their pride and demolished Laboral Kutxa (88-69).

On the other hand, the losing team had already secured the home court advantage in the playoffs, they had accomplished their goal and they were entitled to one bad night. However, the usually feisty Basques didn’t put up a fight this time. Brose Baskets started the game with a 29-14 lead in the first quarter, kept it until the end of the first half (45-28) and led by 21 points in the third period (56-35) with Daniel Theis scoring 21 points in 20 minutes of action and Darius Miller adding 16.

Led by Jaka Blazic (16 p.) Baskonia cut the hosts’ lead to 9 points (63-52) at the end of the third quarter, but Brose Baskets answered with a 10-2 run (73-54) and the game was over. Miller finished the night with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists and from the losing side Blazic had also 19, while Giannis Bourousis, Adam Hanga and Darius Adams added 11 points each.

After this result, Laboral Kutxa finished second in its group and will face Panathinaikos in the Euroleague playoffs, having the home court advantage.
