Lithuanian league champions Zalgiris Kaunas, announced the departure of long time player Siim-Sander Vene. The 25-year-old forward has been a part of the team for over 10 years.

Lithuanian league champions Zalgiris Kaunas, announced the departure of long time player Siim-Sander Vene. The 25-year-old forward has been a part of the team for over 10 years.

The Estonian player’s connection with Zalgiris runs deep, as he started out in Zalgiris-Arvydas Sabonis school’s team, with which he triumphed both in Junior Euroleague in the 2006–07 season and the national youth league the following year. During his stay in Zalgiris, he won 3 Lithuanian league championships (2013–14, 2014–15, 2015–16), 1 Baltic Cup (2009–10), as well as 1 LFK Cup (2015).

Vene commented the following: “It was a lot of fun, but everything comes to an end. I wish the club good luck in the new Euroleague. And to the fans who are always with the team and create great atmosphere.”
