Kenny Gabriel may leave Lokomotiv Kuban as Panathinaikos is interested on him in order to boost the front line after James Gist’s injury. The two sides have initiated talks and the situation may be resolved soon, one way or an other.

Gabriel has a 1+1 contract with the Russian club which will pay him $ 750.000 this season. Panathinaikos would have to cover at least part of this contract and the good news for the Greeks is that the Russians may be willing to part ways with the player without asking a buy out. After all, so far Gabriel does not seem to be a good fit with Lokomotiv and after hiring coach Sasha Obradovic.

The player is more than open to the option of playing in Euroleague with Panathinaikos and the next few hours may prove to be crucial for his transfer.
